Family Ties

Ken's father, John,  was a boat builder too—he is all smiles standing next to Christy Brinkley and Billy Joel (pictured top right). John was the lead carpenter in the construction of this boat. He worked at Lee S. Wilbur Company for many years. John also worked for Hinckley Yacht Company. Ken started his boat building career at Wilbur's as crew chief and worked there for 7 years before moving to Florida.

True Beginnings

After settling in Pompano Beach, Ken started what would be 25 years at Merritt Boat and Engine Works. The 60ft beauty was the first Merritt boat he helped construct (pictured bottom right). It was completed in 1987, is still in immaculate condition, and owned by a top country music artist. After completing over 40 boats with Merritt's, Ken decided to start his own company and Kelley Marine, Inc. was born. He still does sub-contract work for Merritt Boat and Engine Works.

Teak Tabletop

This beautiful teak tabletop would make an excellent addition to your cockpit or flybridge area. It is constructed from 9/16" teak decking on marine plywood. This particular table has 6 coats of Z-spar varnish on the molding and cup holder with 2 coats of Starbrite teak oil on the decking. Bottom of the table painted white.
